You don’t have to study for ten years to be an expert in your field. Be willing to learn what you don’t know and always stay on top of the latest information. Read books, blogs, articles; go to expos and join debates. Be willing to share your knowledge with the world and you will establish yourself as an expert.
Show knowledge by sharing knowledge
There are many ways to share what you know. If you have a website, create an information page or blog where you post everything there is to know about your product or service. If you sell carpets, talk about the leading carpet trends around the world and all the ways you can use a carpet. Even better, load videos where you demonstrate the practical and decorative uses of your carpets. Make it interesting and stay on top of your game. Try to post new content every week or at least twice a month. People will see that you take your product or service seriously and that you know what you are talking about.
Continue to add value
Consumers are looking for value and sometimes you have to give value for free in order to convert a potential client into a paying client (see Blog 5).
If you have an online fashion store, you could offer a free style and what-to-wear-for-your-body-shape guide to subscribers, rather than spamming them with promotions all the time.
Stay curious and keep sharing what you learn. Establishing yourself as an expert creates trust between you and potential clients, making them more willing to buy from you.
